The views in these Southern Appalachian mountains changes with the seasons. As a trail runner, Abigail has a firsthand connection to each season: the lush, dense summer filled with green & humidity, and the crisp, clear winter, characterized by wide-ranging views through the leafless trees. This print, of the view from the top of Tray Mountain, was inspired by a run there on a particularly cold day in mid-December, when the runners had to quickly take in the view, holding their arms tightly around themselves to retain what little warmth they could against the sub-freezing, invasive wind gusts. Endorphins pumping from climbing a mountain, the runner soaks in the majesty of a Blue Ridge vista.
